Ascension Lenten Companion Year 2023 by Father Mark Toups
February 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
God wants to give you more. How will you respond this Lent?
Has your relationship with God grown stale? Has it lost its spark? Are you plagued by a particular sin? Something you can’t shake? Are you just tired from the day-to-day grind of your life? These all show that God wants to give you more. And this Lent can be when God gives it to you.
Fr. Mark Toups, an experienced spiritual director, leads readers inward to invite the Lord to heal those areas where they need it most. He follows the same format that tens of thousands enjoyed in Advent with his popular Rejoice! journals. Readers will receive daily guidance as well as supplemental videos, to help enter more deeply into Lent and remain focused throughout the season. Each week we will enjoy a tasty lunch of homemade soups and bread. Either Father Ken or Father Jerry will lead the session based on the book Return: Lent with Father John Burns. The session includes prayer, a short video and group discussion.
Reorient your mind and heart this Lent so you can more fully experience the joy of Easter—Christ’s victory over sin and death. In this beautiful guided video series, Fr. John Burns—author of the bestselling and award-winning book Adore—invites you to strip away your confusion, attachments, and sin so you can return to the Lord and undergo real and lasting conversion. The companion journal, Return, features stunning original art by Josiah Henley of Heart of IESVS…In this video, Fr. John Burns introduces you to the pillars of Lent—prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Fr. John encourages you to reflect on what practices you will commit to this Lent and how they will help you to journey through the events of the Paschal Mystery to the glory of the resurrection. Although not an easy path, the Lord will give us the graces to endure the suffering as Christ did and grow ever closer to the father. Will you join him on this pilgrimage?
