The presence of young families is a gift to the Church as it shows our Catholic Faith being passed on to the next generation and gives us hope for the future! We are an aging parish, and our success depends on our ability to nurture, engage and minister to the young families in our parish today to ensure a healthy Church moving forward. The Family Life Ministry is being formed to bring together families to socialize, offer tangible support, share life's ups and downs, struggles and triumphs, faith, and community. In today's fast-paced world, young families navigate schedules, parenting, and various commitments that leave little room for connections with others. It is our hope to develop a mentality of community as a parish body that gets extended to all parishioners, no matter what age or stage in life we find ourselves. Modeled after our existing Caring Community that primarily ministers to the more mature members of our parish community, the Family Life Ministry will minister to the young families in our parish. As a parish community, we want to encourage and support our young families in their awesome task of raising our next generation of practicing Catholics. Tangible support such as babysitting, tutoring, preparation of meals, sharing of wisdom, transportation to appointments, etc. are a few examples of opportunities this new ministry can provide. The invitation to join this ministry is not only extended to families with children that need a connection with other parents and children, but also to our elder parishioners who can share what they have learned in their life journey with those that are not as far along in their own journey.
