Faith Formation does not end with your Confirmation…
In many ways it is just beginning!
Parent Faith Formation Class is designed to support parents in their faith journey, and help fill in the gaps enabling them to teach their children the faith. This year is all about the Sacrament of Confession and Sacrament of Eucharist. These two magnificent gifts of faith are given freely and welcome us to remove the affects of sin from our lives, and come to true freedom in life with Jesus Christ.
In the Sacrament of Confession, we open up and are honest with God the Father about our failings through meeting Christ’s advocate on earth, an ordained Catholic priest. It is said that to be transformed we need to be honest with ourselves and with those we have hurt. When we hold onto these hidden burdens we are the ones negatively impacted. It impacts our relationships, our health and our way of life. God calls us to be freed from these heavy burdens and errant lifestyle. In the Sacrament of Confession we receive the healing. The more we practice it, the healthier we become.
The Sacrament of the Eucharist is the living God contained in the mystery of bread and wine blessed by the consecrated hands of a Catholic priest. This is NOT just bread and wine. It has become the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Theresa Swank is our facilitator for the Parent Faith Formation Class.
The sessions are once a month and are found on the Formed website. As parishioners you are encouraged to watch any of the Formed episodes at your leisure.
Prayers for you and your families as you encounter the treasure of the Catholic church. Here you will find the pearl of great price.
