New Hope Ministries - NHM is a Christian social service agency that extends the outreach of the local church in the communities of Dillsburg, Dover and Mechanicsburg. The Mission of NHM is to show the love and hope found in Christ by meeting the needs of families and individuals in our local communities. When a client approaches New Hope for “basic needs” assistance, they are often facing many more difficulties in their lives than just financial concerns. They come with broken hearts, spirits and souls. While providing material assistance to over 5,000 individuals annually, we can also share the transforming power of Christ’s love and encourage participation in a local church body for ongoing care, disciples and emotional support. In addition, we are able to impact 350 socially and financially disadvantaged area youth annual, through year-round New Hope Children and Youth Club Programs.
Many churches provide benevolent ministries and care assistance for members of their congregation. New Hope is able to extend the scope of the resources beyond which a local church can reasonably provide. Forms of assistance provided by New Hope include food, rent/mortgage assistance to prevent homelessness, utility assistance, help with medical and transportation needs and counseling services. In addition, through a wide network of community partners, New Hope can provide eligible clients with screening and referral services to alternate assistance providers – far beyond the time consuming effort that an individual church or committee can accomplish independently. Partner with New Hope to extend the outreach of your local church!

Coffee & Donuts - Every Sunday of the year except in July and August, there is a reception with coffee and donuts after the 10:30 mass in the reception hall of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. This is an opportunity to meet fellow parishioners and church staff and discuss the weeks events and activities as well as to chat about the mass and issues ongoing within the parish. Each week a different area of ministry hosts the reception and provides information about their efforts. The reception is free of charge although a donation to help cover the costs of donuts and beverage is appreciated.
