Knights of Columbus - The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.

The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 12,000 councils and 1.7 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.

Caring Community - Bishop Dattilo said that the parishes of the Harrisburg Diocese should not only be “centers of worship,” but should also be “centers of service,” places to which their parishioners can turn when they suffer the death of a loved one, face a serious illness or injury, or try to deal with many of the other challenges of life.

This parish group provides physical, spiritual and temporal assistance to parishioners in need. Ministry teams within the group help with medical nursing, transportation, short-term meals, nursing home visitations, greeting cards, home maintenance, funeral lunch preparations, outreaches to the homebound, and consoling to the bereaved. Members volunteer as they are able and willing to commit help.

The Caring Community is composed of a number of teams, each offering a different service to those inneed. Anyone seeking assistance is able to call the parish office and speak with or leave a message for Stella Kulp, who coordinates the organization. She will pass the request on to the appropriate team and its members will take things from there.
