Ministers of Welcome (Ushers) - Ushers serve a very important function at Saint Katharine Drexel. They are the first face to greet you when you arrive for mass. They maintain the dignity and sensitivity of the mass, be seating late arrivals in an orderly manner, assisting the elderly and disable persons to their seats. For parishioners unable to go to the alter to receive communion, ushers arrange for them to receive communion in their pews.

Other duties include but are not limited to: opening and closing doors, selecting parishioners to college weekly budgets and special collections, safeguarding the collections, selecting families to deliver the gifts to the alter and distributing bulletins and other material when required.

When all else fails, see an usher. For further information please contact Brenda Zak at journeyZ@comcast.net or 691-8875.

Altar Guild - Those willing to lend use of their laundry facilities can help in the Altar Guild to wash and iron altar linens.

For more information contact Stella Kulp at skdparish@comcast.net.

Choir - Volunteer choir members bless our parish by fostering everyone's participation in Mass through singing. We concentrate on supplementing the congregation's singing, and we additionally sing alone one or two pieces yearly as a part of worship. Our Thursday practices are from 7:30-8:30P.M. We form friendships as we sing, and we encourage you to join us.

We welcome both men and women but especially challenge men to join, to balance our voices range. Members may be of any age, too.

For more information, please call John Frye at 697-8716, e-mail him at skdmusic@comcast.net, or stop to meet him in person in the choir loft after any weekend Mass.

Cantors - Consider becoming a cantor. Cantors fulfill a vital ministry at Mass. We lead/sing the Psalm verses and lead the congregation in singing other Mass parts. Because of this ministry's nature and required experience, cantors are auditioned. Our Thursday rehearsals are from 8:30-9P.M., after choir practice finishes.

For more information, please call John Frye at 697-8716, e-mail him at skdmusic@comcast.net, or stop to meet him in person in the choir loft after any weekend Mass.

For more information contact John Frye at skdmusic@comcast.net.
