Parish Renewal - Periodic parish-wide programs, including retreats and missions, in order to deepen our faith. Usually take place every other year.
For more information contact Fr. Steve at skdpastor@comcast.com.
Landings - Welcoming Returning Catholics. A safe harbor or landing place for returning Catholics to explore and share their faith with 8 or 9 attending Catholics. In being a non-judgmental "compassionate listener", you can help return non-practicing Catholics to full participation in the Church through Landings.
Landings is people in solidarity with the returning, who in their own lives have “returned,” and continue to “return.” Founded on the belief that we do not have to be trained theologians to share what we believe, and to speak honestly about our faith, trusting in the Holy Spirit.
For information on landings call Dave and Barb Graham at dgraham1102@comcast.net or 691-9691.
Cursillo Community - A method of Christian renewal that includes a weekend in which priests and lay persons live and work together to gain a deep, permanent and living awareness of the treasure and responsibility of their faith.
For more information contact Deacon Joe at skddeacon@comcast.net.
RCIA - Have you thought about becoming a member of the Catholic Church? Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process concerned with the total formation of an individual considering membership in the Catholic Church. Because it is a process, and not a pre-set program, RCIA can meet a person wherever they are on their faith journey and help them develop their relationship with God, his Church and the Saint Katharine Drexel Parish community.
For more information on RCIA call Tom and Marilyn Sweeney at tws@pa.nettws@pa.net or 796-0126.
RCIA Companion - One of the most important elements of the RCIA process is the role of the "companion". A companion is a practicing Catholic who provides a supportive presence to someone preparing to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. The companion does not have to teach; they simply make the commitment to attend the RCIA learning sessions and liturgical celebrations. The only requirement is faith and a welcoming attitude. (Call the parish office.)
